We love our smartphones, but we all know the single most common issue is the lousy battery life. Have no fear, Dolphin Companion is here!

Dolphin Companion’s main focus is extending your smartphone’s battery life so you can browse (or chat) as much as you want without having to worry. Just click on your Dolphin Companion Add-on (on right toolbar) and the Dolphin Companion landing page will open up in a new tab within Dolphin Browser. Here you will find your phone’s remaining battery life and our customizable “One Touch Optimize” button.

About One Touch Optimize:

This is best part of Dolphin Companion because it lets your configure your data settings without ever having to leave your browser. Check in on your battery life and if it is getting dire, switch to a different (or even customized) profile to conserve your remaining juice.

3 profiles:

Extreme profile

For the most extreme circumstances, such as being stuck in an avalanche with almost frozen fingers, 6% remaining battery life and dismal network connection. This is the least battery-consumption mode which immediately turns your smartphone to receive only Call and SMS functions and no data connectivity.

Balanced profile

For the more balanced, less extreme lifestyles that have constant and regular access to charging outlets. This is the default mode with all call and SMS functions and power sucking data connectivity is switched on so you can browse whatever and whenever.

Normal profile

Don’t want to optimize your battery life? Dolphin will keep it as normal.

Because this is a new release, Dolphin Companion is only available by downloading it from the link below.

And as always, without your feedback we would not be able to make Dolphin Browser better, so please send all comments, questions (or even virtual high-fives) to support@dolphin-browser.com

Thanks!

The Dolphin Team

Develop it for Dolphin Browser Mini please!

  6. Rick says:

Had it on my Droid X, but found that it *seriously* interferred with the retreival of emails; I saw that background retreival was off in the recommended scenario, but it impacted manual retreival, too

  7. jeremy says:

I liked it but I think you guy should stick with the browser. If you guys do decide to continue with this I would appreciate it if you can add a custom feature where you can select certain features to change instead of just 3 modes.

  8. saman says:

It is very very nice …

  9. Vincent says:

You should concentrate on the browser. Power management is not the job of a web browser. Your should refocus your priorities. This, combined with the publicity adding more and more on the welcome page makes me think you are becoming too commercial. Will we need to find another alternative browser soon ??

  10. thorne king says:

    Awesome..

  11. MizzJosie says:

Is this a task killer? I have a Droid2 and the lady in my knitting circle said I shouldn’t have a task killer on this phone. I’m scared. I don’t know what to do

  12. RageAgainstTheDolphin says:

Man, did you guys totally forget about the iPhone or what? It seems like everything I read coming out feature-wise is for Android version only. iPhone still has no add-on support, obviously not this new feature… and enough other stuff that I’m feeling like switching back over to my other stand-by browser. What gives, Dolphin? Eeee-e-ee-e-e-e-e!

  13. Jim says:

I applaud the Dolphin team for their efforts but if you have JuiceDefender installed from the Android market there’s no need for Dolphin Companion.

  14. TBolt says:

own extended batteries. don’t want anything messing with my power settings.

  15. Halal Cosmetics says:

charlibob i dont think it’s for the browser itself, its like a seperate app and it shows up if u pull down your notification bar.

  16. charlibob says:

I downloaded it several times on my EVO 4G, but it doesn’t show up anywhere in the Dolphin Browser. ???

  17. Jamileth says:

i would like it if it would b off from the notification bar… pretty plz and thank u just in time for the holidays..

  18. thorne king says:

    Cool…B B-)

  19. Rick says:

I like it but I uninstalled it because I dont want it in the notification bar.

  20. Coronel says:

Please make it on/off on demand

  21. subhasish ghosh says:

Thank you for this excellent add on. one request, let the battery optimizer run in background. Plz provide us a way to remove it from the notification bar.
