  1. Starr Mordaunt says:

ASUS stands out as the company that initiated this whole entire netbook fad where the idea is to have compact laptops under 12 in . that are equipped with fundamental specifications but nonetheless capable of doing basic tasks including browsing on the web, transmitting and receiving e-mail, as well as operating office applications. They cost much less as compared to other midrange laptops sized TWO inches larger, are lightweght and also have above average battery life as a result of being more basic. Multitasking is oftentimes pretty restricted as a result of all round sluggishness, especially if they may be using later versions of Windows. Faster hardware was utilized in the Asus 1201N but the effect was that the life of the battery was reduced. The Asus EEE PC 1215N is the successor hoping to combine overall performance in addition to value together with better portability..

  3. Joseph says:

Ok, guys… There is no doubt that dolphin HD is amazing and you have a loyal customer with me, I recommend HD to everyone I know. However there are definitely some optimization issues with HD, and a product like dolphin for pad is attractive, but HD is just better. I would love to switch for good, but can’t for all of the numerous reasons listed on this forum. C’mon, guys… no update since July??? Really??? Show us the love you show all of our phone browser counterparts.

Wow me with the consistency you have proven to have with HD!

  4. PpK says:

It’s been like 4 months, any news on update? Or Dolphin HD is now good for Honeycomb too? I am using Galaxy Tab 10.1

  5. Kim Stephens says:

Looks good on Toshiba Thrive, but is useless without ability to import bookmarks. I’m not going to manually visit several hundred sites just to be able to use the pad version.

  6. Phil says:

Is Dolphin for Pad still in development? There hasn’t been an update since July. That seems excessive. This is looking a lot like an abandoned project.

  7. ryan says:

aside from the gestures, is there any way to simply have a back and forward button on the top of the browser as it displays on my sony tablet s? Sorry for the noob question but this is my first use of an adroid device and dolphin in this context…thanks…

  8. hakanslient says:

    Hi

Do we have to downlod dolphinpad only from google market? Is there a link to download app from your website? Or will you upload it to for example slideme.org? (in slideme.org there is only dolphin hd app)

    Very thanks.

  9. mitch says:

How do you type a url in address bar in full screen mode

  10. Myron says:

Is development still continuing on this browser for pad? Or just for the HD version? There havent been any updates for a long time, and updates continue to be released for the hd version of the browser.

  11. koray says:

Add ons dont work with this Version…

  12. Chris says:

I love the tablet version of the browser and use it as my primary browser on my EEE-Pad. I am curious about the status of an update :) I would love to help test if there is a need!

    Thank you,
    Chris

  13. OJ says:

Is it, or isn’t possible to use gesture on Asus eee Transformer with 3.2? I can’t figureit out

  14. Bill says:

Same as the others, would like to be able to gesture without leaving full screen mode, love the full screen button though.

Also, is there a way for when I swipe right for bookmarks that my bookmarks show up everytime instead of top menu of bookmarks or other bookmarks? Its just extra tapping.

  15. Alex Tang says:

I have been using the Dolphin for Android Pad beta for a few weeks and I like it. However, I have a few comments:

    1. Keep the Gesture activation button at the bottom like the current HD version. It is more neutral to active the gesture function from the bottom.

    2. It is bad that gesture function is not available in full size mode.

    3. Too many steps to delete/edit a bookmark. Suggest to keep it simple with a long press on the bookmark.

    Thanks.

  16. Even says:

I love the pad version so far. It is, even in beta, the best browser for the Transformer, in my opinion.

    Three things:
    1) Do you consider adding Delicious bookmarks integration? (And what happened to the old add-on? I can’t find it anymore.)
    2) Pressing the triangle button to do a gesture is okay (I think I prefer the bottom corner, but it’s still good). But as far as I can tell it’s not possible to do a gesture in fullscreen mode without disabling fullscreen first and then pressing the triangle. This is so time-consuming that I find myself not using gestures at all when in fullscreen, so I think I prefer the Dolphin HD way of doing this.
    3) Would it be possible to add an autohide address/navigation bar option like the default Dolphin HD behaviour – or merge this with the fullscreen option? Even with the bigger screen, I like using fullscreen while keeping the easy access (though the settings option) to the address/navigation bar.

  17. Greg says:

Hello, very good browser.Work great on asus transformer android 3.2.Please add a function to import bookmarks into html file.
Sory for my bad english and good day.

  18. boarder2 says:

It seems pointless to have gestures when you just have to press a button to activate gesture mode. You may as well just do what you set out to do in the first place.

  19. Jeff says:

I’m having the same issue with add-ons not showing. I am using a asus eeepad transformer and the menu button does nothing while on the add-on page.

  20. Jay says:

Overall I really like this version of Dolphin, but I call it The Devourer of Battery. It seems to constantly run, even after exiting and force-stopping via the applications menu.

    Moto Xoom, Android 3.2

  21. steven says:

How do you access the add-ons? I have desktop toggle installed and can see it listed in settings, but can’t figure out how to acess thenad-ons toolbar.

  22. Russ Patterson says:

Just got my Thrive. On the basis of comments, I went with Dolphin from the start. No experience on other browsers.
How can I get Bookmarks to come up first, instead of History?

  23. Martin says:

Please tell me how to get rid of this speed dial and webzine tab nonsense. It’s a browser, I want it to open to my homepage.

  26. Rand says:

There’s a few things I like better than the HD version but a rather annoying issue is when the user agent is set to desktop, Dolphin uses the google mobile page for search.

  27. Mark says:

Do any of the Dolphin HD add-ons work on this? So far I’ve tried Speed Dial and AdBlocker with no luck.

  28. GreenI says:

Works well on my NI Adam (running adamcomb 0.3), except that the Bookmarks to Sd cardill not allow the restore of bookmarks previously saaved in Dolphin HD.

  29. Flo says:

    Hi guys!
Great app, good feeling about it so far! Thanks!

How could i synchronize bookmarks from HD to Pad version INCLUDING FOLDERS? It took me a long time to sort it well, i don’t want to do it again…

    • Dolphin Browser says:

Sorry, Dolphin for Pad does not support syncing bookmarks with Dolphin HD currently.

      • shaun says:

        Deal breaker…

On the go bookmarks are everything, everything I need is in HD … I’D love to switch to Pad … but without import ability it’s dead to me

        • Dolphin Browser says:

I will transfer it to our relevant team member.
They will consider carefully whether this feature should be added or not.

          • sylas11 says:

I have managed lack of direct import of the bookmarks by using the xmark app/plugin (thx Dolphin support for suggestion), but then I’ve realized that Dolphin for Pad does not accept bookmarks organized in subfolders…It is a huge limitation. Dolphin HD already recognize subfolders since version 5, please consider to add this feature to the Pad version.

          • Dolphin Browser says:

Thanks for reporting it to us.
We will consider the feature if necessary.

You’re the best Dolphin. It’s almost 2 years since I started using your products.
I have Galaxy Tab 7.0, why not make this available for other tablets with Froyo or Gingerbread?
    Thanks,

  32. Alex says:

Why not for Gingerbread Tabs like my Galaxy Tab? Very said.

  33. tim says:

Also another thing that would be nice is to have more keyboard shortcuts, more and more tablets works with keyboards like the transformer,
so things like ctrl+w to close a tab, ctrl+t to make new tab,
a way to switch from one tab to another with the keyboard and so on would be great.

Currently there’s mostly the switch to next / previous tab that you can set to the volume buttons, unfortunately volume up is on the right side of the volume down on the keyboard,
but vol up is switching to the left tab and vol down is switching to the right tab, so it’s reversed.

  34. tim says:

Used it for a few hours,
Works great on asus transformer, much faster and responsive than Dolphin HD.
And interface is great too, good to have back and forward buttons now too.

One thing it’s currently missing imho is that while you can zoom in with multitouch, you cannot zoom out further.
I know you can force the default view in the setting to ‘far’ but it’s not what I need.

Basically what would be good is to have the page fit by default like currently, but be able to zoom out as needed with multitouch points the same way that you can currently zoom in. :)

The ability to switch from one tab to another by flipping with 2 fingers on the right or left side is nice, but the cube rotation, while impressive, takes too much time, might be nice to change that or make it configurable to no transition or something fast like a fast slide or something for more efficiency.

  40. sylas11 says:

    Great app, but:
    - after installation, it is named “Dolphin Browser HD” in the application list. Even in configuration dialogs it says it is “Dolphin Browser HD” (not “Dolphin Browser for Pad”as it should be). It is confusing a little bit, especially when user has also ‘real’ Dolphin HD installed, as I do, for the reason given below,
    - plugin “Bookmarks to SD” does not work. If I have Dolphin for Pad installed alone, plugin says that it needs Dolphin HD. When I additionaly install Dolphin HD, plugin imports bokmarks to Dolphin HD, even if called from the Dolphin for Pad… So, I am not able to import bookmarks to Dolphin for Pad from the html file, exported previously from Dolphin HD. This is the main reason that I have Dolphin HD installed together with Dolphin for Pad – I cannot use my bookmarks in the Pad version. If I could import bookmarks, I would switch immediately to the Pad version :)

    • Dolphin Browser says:

      Thanks for your feedback.
Can you tell me your device model and firmware version? Android 3.0?

      • sylas11 says:

I am using Acer Iconia Tab A500, Android version 3.0.1 (still waiting for the 3.1 update). And, after a whole day of using Dolphin for Pad, I can confirm that this is the best browser for tablets so far, except lack of importing the bookmarks (plugin does not work), and messing with the app name (I have two Dolphins HD on the apps list, instead of one HD and one Pad).

        • Dolphin Browser says:

You mean the shortcuts of HD version and pad version are in the same name on your tablet?
If it is possible, can you send a screen shot to our support inbox: support@dolphin-browser.com?
And do you want to import bookmarks from Dolphin HD?

          • sylas11 says:

I answer yes for the both questions :)
According the wrong app name in shortcuts and program settings, maybe it is connected with wrong translations. I am using Polish language, but I can not find the option to change it to English to confirm.
I will send some screenshots later this day.

          • Dolphin Browser says:

            Thanks.
We would really appreciate it if you can send us some screen shots to take a look.

      • sylas11 says:

Sorry, forgot to write the firmware version. Its Acer_A500_1.141.01_EMEA_GEN6, kernel version 2.6.36.3

  41. user001 says:

Hmm…how do you use the gesture feature? There is no activation corner anymore. Gestures still present on version prior to this one. Do I need to remove prior version? Also my bookmarks from prior version weren’t imported. Odd…

    • Dolphin Browser says:

You can draw gesture below the address bar by clicking the button at the right hand of address bar.
And Dolphin for Pad does not support importing bookmarks from Dolphin HD currently.

    Hi Guys,

Love the new Dolphin Browser for Pad. I downloaded it for my Asus Transformer a few hours ago and think it’s great.

One cool feature I’ve stumbled on is switching between tabs by some kind of gesture. It brings up a cube animation. Myself and my wife have done it a few times by accident but can’t figure out how.

It’s the quick menu. It’s the best thing about the stock honeycomb browser. At the least, please add some navigation buttons to one of the side bars. This allows for better navigation in full screen mode.

    Thank you.

Something like this shouldn’t be a matter of ‘necessity’. It’s a user request that will enhance the browser’s usability. I’m certain that if you include a feature like this, people would be very please with it. Until it’s there, I for one will stick with the stock browser.
