Users who haven’t tried the beta version but get page loading issue: progress bar loads forever, a page stops loading at 70% -80% completion, and etc, please update your browser to v5.0.1. Maybe it is not work for all devices, but it works in most cases. Users who have tried the beta version have proved it.

I have been using dolphin browser for a month now and my only complaint is that the browse randomly crashes/exits with No Explanation mostly when trying to go back a page and now when I advance a page it just exits
The issue I am having is that the page occasionally reloads, which is a bit of a hassle when I am almost to the bottom. Then I have to scroll and try and figure out where I was last.
This seems to happen randomly – sometimes if I have been away from a page for a while, other times just when the screen locks and I immediately unlock.
Also sometimes when it loads it might be at the bottom of the page as well…
In case of crashing your dolphin itself and your phone, the browser will stop working in the background when you go to another app or your phone is locked. So you are back to it again, it will refresh the page.
And it does not use your traffic to reload the page but the cache.
I got the same problem like barbara…..
The page reloads,but it doesn’t scroll back where I read last time…..
Page reload just cost 2~3 sec,scrolling pageand figure out the section costs 2~3 min…….
Hi Tunny, I noticed another problem in Acer Iconia A500. I tried to watch a video in a Greek site ( http://www.contra.gr/Soccer/USA/MLS/327927.html) from dailymotion. In Dolphin the video freezes and only the sound is playing. In the default browser the video plays normal even in full screen. I have the latest flash player 10.0.3
For any other information, please let me know.

There is a error in the translation to spanish. Section “settings” “about” . It says Hacerca and must says Acerca.

Is there a way to NOT delete shared objects when you exit dolphin browser 5.0.1?
1. open a flash website that used shared object
2. log in and set your preferences
3. close the browser and re-open the site
when you exit the dolphin browser and go back to a site that uses shared objects to store your settings, they are lost. you have to log back in
your settings should be persistent unless you delete the shared objects on purpose.
This only happens in dolphin. if i use the stock android browser, the shared objects function correctly.
this is flash 10.3.185.23 and dolphin 5.0.1 on android 4.22.651.2
also if i do not exit the browser and go to a different site and come back, the shared objects work correctly.

click the grey soundcloud icon to connect – it will show you the connect page at soundcloud then once you approve it, it will send you back to candytunes and the soundcloud icon will be orange.
once you connect once, you should not have to connect the next time you go to candytunes.com.
it works correctly if you don’t exit dolphin, but if you do, you lose the shared object and have to connect again.

And for your shared issue, do you clear cookie when you exit the browser?
i tried both ways auto clearing the cache on exit – i assumed that was causing the issue so I turned it off. but i still lose the shared object.
I’m back to using the android stock browser because this is a deal breaker for me. it appears that shared objects in flash are destroyed when the browser is exited.
This does not happens in the stock android browser.
it might be a flash player bug too – im not sure how the stock browser handles “exit” because with dolphin, you can exit, but with android, you just go back or tap the home button.
I don’t know if you can actually exit the stock android browser.
I also filed a bug report with adobe flash team in case it is a bug for the flash plug-in

I just switched from v4 to 5.0.1, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to delete bookmarks. Also, is there any way to get the darker theme back from v4?
After Launching Dolphin Browser HD, please click Menu->Bookmarks->Quick Access->Bookmarks. Then holding on the bookmark you want to delete/edit will come out a menu, choose “Delete/Edit Bookmark”. Everything is done!
I’m writing because I love dolphin. HOWEVER, YOU NEED TO FIX THE BUGS WITH THIS NEW UP DATE…..THE PAGES WONT UP LOAD AND THIS NEW FOR MATE SUCKS…THE PAGES WONT LOAD. You mean you can’t upload files in Dolphin HD?
Dolphin HD only supports uploading on Android 2.2 and above.
As for your page loading issue, can you explain it more clearly?

Today (05th) one crash from browser, and thus far no more…something is up but I can’t put a name on it yet…compatability with another program ?

Hi, I have an Acer Iconia A500 with Android 3. The problem I have with Dolphin HD 5.0.1 beta except from frizing loading pages sometimes, it keeps exiting and going to desktop with no reason! I think it crashes without showing any message. I don’t know if it conflicts with other applications, because when I kill all applications then it works fine for a while. Nice work though..! A very good effort with a nice browser. Hope all issues will be fixed with newer versions.
Can you tell me in what kind of situation that the browser existing and going to desktop automatically?
And could you send us the crash log as soon as it force close again?
It closes randomly and goes to desktop without showing the force close window. I don’t know if there is another way to export a log file. I found also a temporary solution when the loading bar freezes. I stop the loading fase and refresh..! Thanks for the reply.

I’m afraid that v5.0.1 has not fixed the page loading problem at all for me.
Trying to load any page, the progress meter starts to show and then stops for 20 seconds our more. Often the ‘force close / wait’ window comes up. Loading the outage through the stock browser works fine, so it’s not the phone.
I’ve reverted to v4.6.1, which also works fine, until there is a reliable fix.

still have tremendous lag after installing 5.01, which is meant to fix this. google.com takes 15 secs. to load from start – being set as home page. I run this software on an HTC Desire with Froyo 2.2 and not rooted.

Noticed that this version is a little heavy, at over 11 mb.

Just started using this browser on a Samsung Galaxy S2. Within 5 mins of browsing it crashed the phone out completely. A little disappointed but I will give more feedback over time.

Having issue with dolphin 5.01 on thunderbolt. Now when I start and download and then hit menu then exit, the download fails. This never happened before. Before the download would continue in the background and successfully download.
Where do you download the file?

5.01 is more stable when loading pages.
I am having an issue on my Acer A500 (Android 3.0.1) tablet, that I don’t on my Droid X (Android 2.3.3).
On some website, hitting the back arrow only takers me to the top of the page, not back a page. Sometimes if I hit it several times quickly it will move back.
This is new to the 5.x version, 4.x never had this problem.

We do not get full sites on many pages, even when user agent is set to desktop – ESPN, EOnline, NYTimes, etc.
Please try to input the full site address after changing user agent to desktop, and see whether it works or not.
Well I have an optimus one and I have noticed that v 5.0.1 is using a lot of cpu unlike last version that was pushed to market 5.0.0beta 4 or something ..scrolling becomes laggy and I have to relaunch it..any clues???

Looks slower to me as compared with the mini version and the past version 4 (which is more stable) than V5. I get a lot of force close pop-up particularly when scrolling and the page loads slower than the previous version 4.

The update was not ready for release.
Either refund people who purchased a working app, or put up a link to the version prior to 5.0.

- Double tap pages such as Yahoo, Wiki etc does not zoom anymore. No effect at all
Select text doesn’t work anymore.
- Mentioned earlier, long touch doesn’t select/highlight text. Select Text command only sends select prompt to page top.
Both worked in previous versions. Both were reasons I chose Dolphin over other browsers.

I love dolphin browser hd and its smooth stylish touches that make browsing a dream. HOWEVER on my stock dell streak mini 5 crashing bug is not resolved with this newer version. I like the ui update and speed dial tab. But these crashes on full site facebook, wikipeadia, youtube and other various large sites are getting very tedious indeed.
If it dismt crash this woukd be the best android browser FULL STOP

i’ve loved Dolphin since i’ve tried but version 5.0 made it very slow.
When i click on a link, it stucks for more then 5 or 10 seconds than load the page. It seems like it freezes till the content of the page is completly downloaded (when the correct behavior should be showing the page while it’s still loading)
Version 5.0.1 didn’t fix the problem. I have a galaxt tab 7 with froyo.
That’s pity because i really love this browser (and the 5.0 gui is so cool!) but it became impossible for me to use.

Love the new look of Dolphin HD, seems a lot cleaner & faster. One oddity I have noticed though is that it doesn’t seem to respect the “Exit Settings”. I have “confirm when exit” turned off (unchecked) but it still asks me every time.
Use the exit from main menu.
