No matter your suggestions or bug reports, all inspire and encourage us to improve Dolphin Browser HD v5.0 better. For all other users, we also thank you for your appreciation of Dolphin Browser HD. Now we are glad to share with you all the new changes in Dolphin Browser HD v5.0 beta1.

- Faster browsing experience and more stable performance. We have to admit Dolphin Browser HD v5.0 private beta is very unstable. However, we have fixed many random crash problems in this public beta version. Also, both launching speed and browsing speed get optimized in this public beta version.

I’m using v4.6.1 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Can I install v5.x beta and still keep v4.6.1?
I am afraid you can’t. It will be replaced.
Oh that’s a shame. Is there a way of going back to 4.6.1 if I don’t like 5.x beta? I like 4.6.1 but the comments about 5 beta aren’t good, so I want a return route to the version I like if I don’t like 5.x beta.
If you really want to go back, you can download v4.6.1 from Android Market.
Actually I went to download the beta for a try, but none of the download links are working – they’re all 404′s, as is the barcode…..

This probably sounds stupid but i somehow enlaged my screen so now the top control bar is cut off. How do i get it back to normal. I am using an 8″ android tablet. Please help its frustrating.
You can press ” Menu” to get it back.
Or you can disable full screen mode by clicking full screen button on the right tool sider bar.
Nice interface but page loading takes ages. This page for instance never loaded fully in the time i read all the comments and typing this message. There is also some lag.
The above problem occurred after installing dolphine v 5 and above

My phone is sgs 2.3.3 jvh.

You can choose to use both HD & Mini.
Yes, Tunny, I did mean the toolbar. Fullscreen and plugins are all that are in the toolbar now. Mini had more than that.
The one in Mini is Toolbox. It is different from Toolbar in HD.
But if you have any suggestion to toolbar in HD, you can tell us in detail.

You mean when you create a gesture for a url, you want to choose from bookmarks directly?

About flash support on android 2.1 ,what i wnat to say is that you may enable flash to this version too, not only for 2.2 or above, because my has flash along others with this version. But we want to use dolphin because is faster.

It has a pretty good interface, but it lags sometimes and loading a page is slower than the previous version. Other than that, it’s great!
You can try our latest v5.0 beta2, and see whether it is better.

Force closing every time on my LG Optimus S running Froyo 2.2. It doesn’t even get past 10% of the load progress bar opening up the home page. Can’t even get into settings, either through the browser obviously, or through the manage apps screen. Still a little work to do there fellas. Thanks for your help and keep up the great work.

Hi, the new UI is much better, but this beta will randomly stop connecting to websites after a while. The only fix is a force stop. Exiting from menu doesn’t remedy the problem. Are the dev team aware of this or am I the only one? I’m on an ASUS Transformer. Stock browser continues to work.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. It doesn’t happen on the same websites, it happens randomly. It’s as if the Dolphin HD stops recognizing that I have access tot he net or is timing out. I’m going to try beta 2 and see if that fixes it. Great browser!

Hi, this beta will randomly stop connecting to websites causing me to have to force stop it (exiting from the menu won’t fix the problem) to get it working again. UI is MUCH MUCH better.
Anyway, are they aware of this? BTW I’m on an ASUS Transformer.
Themes do not work.. It says its too old please update..

Ok. support flash on 2.2 but mine a Motorola charm mb502 with android 2.1 have flash support on the default navigator included. But this app dont have all the extras and quick page loading as dolphin has.

This app is beyond its time. It’s way ahead of other browsers out there and does what others lack! I am completely dedicated to Dolphin that I deleted my stock browser. The developers are always there and never cease to amaze! This along with an army of add-ons makes it the best application I have used. The implication of a custom theme color wheel will solve everyone’s mood.

It wouldn’t load pages on my Galaxy Tab, it will almost load them and then just stops. I tried turning off all plugins, but it didn’t help…

I am loving HD, especially the bookmark sync plugin! However, am I missing a way to add options to the toolbox? Mini had more options than fullscreen and plugins, like private browse in there, and I’m missing them.

First of all, Mini does not support plugins.
And the toolbox you mean in HD is Menu or Toolbar?
If you want to browse without history, you can find this option in Data storage settings.
Hi, been using dolphin HD for past several months ver 4.6, this beta update worked fine however it lost a feature that worked on prev vers. I have a droid incredible (first edition) running android 2.2. On ver 4.6 when ever you pich and zoom it would auto wrap text but on beta 5.0 it won’t work. Yes I can double tap to bring in the text but if I want to pinch it in a little closer it will not auto wrap the text. I really liked that feature on 4.6. It is the 1 reason I would not use Dolphin mini because it did the same thing would not auto wrap text unless you double tap it a second time. Would be great if you could fix this, I will have to go back to 4.6 for now.

You can try to use zoom buttons to zoom in/ out the page. Then the text reflow will work automatically.
Thanks for the reply, yes I know about the zoom buttons but don’t like them because they get in the way of browsing, I can’t tell you how many times I accidentially hit them while scrolling. They work the same way on Dolphin mini. I hope you can make pinch & zoom work with text wrap automatically like your ver 4.6 of Dolphin HD.

I wanted to mention that I have been using this beta 1 for a few days now and I firmly believe that it is faster at loading web pages than ver 4.6. Flash also seems to be loading faster. I usually load pages in desktop format and with ver 4.6 it could get slow at times. I have noticed a big difference in the same pages loading faster on this beta 1. I sincerely hope you can keep the pinch & zoom w/ auto text wrap like how it worked on ver 4.6. I really like Dolphin HD browser over stock. Thank you again for all your replies. Look forward to final release. Oh I love the bookmarks feature scroll on the left, its awesome.

Love your browser. On Gingerbread I have to following issues:
Flash movies won’t run (or even show) and submit buttons (javascript issue?) don’t work.
Can you tell me your device model and firmware version? Froyo2.2?
And can you send us a url link to take a test of your problem?

Anyone knows if this version will sync with Chrome on the desktop? I’m having to use Opera for that reason – the ‘bookmark sync’ in the previous release was just the google accounts bookmarks, not the Chrome bookmarks. Glad to see they got subfolders in now BTW.
Dolphin Browser HD can’t sync bookmarks with your PC Chrome currently.

Superb release and amazingly stable on my thunderbolt. Lightning-fast and smooth a silk. Is there a way I can import my Xmarks bookmarks tho? I can’t seem to figure it out.

Can we set “new tab” screen as default home page, like Dolphin mini browser?
Currently, we don’t support setting new tab as homepage.
So far so good. The improvement in speed alone makes me very happy. Significant difference on HTC Evo. Nice work!

Why won’t this install for me over the last version in the market? Ive tried running the download from within the browser, from within Astro File Manger and every time it just says “Application not installed”
I don’t want to uninstall the old one in fear of losing my bookmarks

and try to use the calendar widget to adjust the date, you will see that it doesn’t work. This used to work prior to 4.6.1

Choose full screen, it will hide the status bar.
But it will also hide the address bar…
